Centre's Board

Centre for Projection Art's Board is entirely volunteer-run and seeks to promote the artistic practice of projection through curated events such as the Gertrude Street Projection Festival.  These events bring together diverse communities to enjoy, educate and engage.

Michael Kendall

Board President

Mike is an Executive Director at JBWere specialising in wealth management for non-profit organisations, private foundations and family offices. Mike holds a Bachelor of Economics from Monash University and an MBA from Melbourne Business School. He is a Chartered Accountant and an SDIAM member. He has worked in investment markets and JBWere for 20 years and in other senior corporate roles prior.

Nicole Warren

Secretary

Nicole is a creative producer experienced in the not-for-profit arts sector, community arts and local government. Working in community circus seeded an early interest in creating inspiring and engaging work that could resonate with a broad audience. Nicole currently works in local government delivering diverse arts and culture programs, alongside independently producing and curating across the arts and entertainment sector.

Bernie Phelan

Board Member

Bernie is a freelance commercial photographer, official photographer and committee member for the Gertrude St Projection Festival and until very recently a Gertrude Street trader. Bernie has a keen interest in community art projects.

Edwina Bartlem

Vice President

Edwina is a contemporary art curator and creative producer with thirty years experience researching, conceptualising, developing and implementing exhibitions and creative projects. She has curated screen-based media exhibitions and programs; temporary and touring exhibitions; performances art events, and public programs for State Library Victoria, Counihan Gallery Brunswick; and Griffith University.

Lara Wentworth

Board Member

Lara is lawyer and experienced manager in the public sector. Lara holds a Bachelor of Laws from Monash University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne. She has considerable experience in social justice, legal education and event management. Active in Melbourne’s music scene, Lara is passionate about creative industries and contributing to the arts not-for-profit sector.

Beck Storer

Board Member

Beck is the founder of The Cutaway, an award-winning creative studio that creates immersive visual experiences in the public landscape. Combining her love for design, technology and craft, her work challenges the curious and presents visual stories that are compelling and memorable. Known for her sharp design aesthetics – most recently being awarded in the top 20 designers in the world for Event Design from the renowned A’Design International Awards.

Rebecca Tattersall

Treasurer

Rebecca is the Business and Finance Manager of the Victorian Law Foundation.  Having worked in similar positions for the past 20 years across Australia, Rebecca is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.  She has been involved in a number of community associations during her career, supporting the financial growth in these organisations and significantly contributing to the not-for-profit sector.

Elise Murphy

Board Member

Elise is an arts manager with expertise in museum, gallery, education and community engagement realms. Most recently she has led public programming, festival and education teams at Museums Victoria and Museum of London, and held audience development and curatorial roles at National Museum of Australia. She has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Art History & Literature, University of Melbourne.
